OPINION – According to the Garbage Party and their propaganda media allies, we’re not supposed to think anything untoward about former VP Joe Biden’s bragging about how he threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees to Ukraine back in the day unless that government fired a prosecutor who was looking into corruption involving a gas company that was paying his son, Hunter, about 83 grand a month at the time.
Nothing to see there. Not a massive quid pro quo or anything like that. Or a major violation of federal law. No. That’s what President Trump did.
The Garbage Party and their media protectors are invested in Biden right now and will remain so unless or until it becomes obvious he can’t win the 2020 nomination.
But that day may be closer, thanks to the intrepid investigative reporting of John Solomon.
He claims to be in possession of memos showing contact between Hunter Biden and the gas company, Burisma, and the Obama State Department just weeks before daddy threatened the Ukrainian president at the time, Petro Poroshenko:
During that February 2016 contact, a U.S. representative for Burisma Holdings sought a meeting with Undersecretary of State Catherine A. Novelli to discuss ending the corruption allegations against the Ukrainian firm where Hunter Biden worked as a board member, according to memos obtained under a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. (I filed that suit this summer with the help of the public interest law firm the Southeastern Legal Foundation.)
Just three weeks before Burisma’s overture to State, Ukrainian authorities raided the home of the oligarch who owned the gas firm and employed Hunter Biden, a signal the long-running corruption probe was escalating in the middle of the U.S. presidential election.
Hunter Biden’s name, in fact, was specifically invoked by the Burisma representative as a reason the State Department should help, according to a series of email exchanges among U.S. officials trying to arrange the meeting. The subject line for the email exchanges read simply “Burisma.”
“Per our conversation, Karen Tramontano of Blue Star Strategies requested a meeting to discuss with U/S Novelli USG remarks alleging Burisma (Ukrainian energy company) of corruption,” a Feb. 24, 2016, email between State officials read. “She noted that two high profile U.S. citizens are affiliated with the company (including Hunter Biden as a board member).
“Tramontano would like to talk with U/S Novelli about getting a better understanding of how the U.S. came to the determination that the company is corrupt,” the email noted further. “According to Tramontano there is no evidence of corruption, has been no hearing or process, and evidence to the contrary has not been considered.”
The records also show that Hunter Biden’s fellow American board member at Burisma, Devon Archer, “secured a meeting on March 2, 2016 with Secretary of State John Kerry,” Solomon wrote. “In addition to serving on the Burisma board, Archer and Hunter Biden were partners at an American firm known as Rosemont Seneca.”
Rosemont Seneca…where have we heard that company name before?
Oh, that’s right…that billion-dollar deal the company (and Hunter) secured with a government-owned Chinese bank.
Breitbart noted further:
In December of that year, Vice President Biden and his son Hunter flew aboard Air Force Two to China. Ten days after the trip, a subsidiary of the Bank of China named Bohai Capital signed an exclusive deal with Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz’s Rosemont to form a $1 billion joint-investment fund called Bohai Harvest RST. The deal was later increased to $1.5 billion.
Chris Heinz is the stepson of former Obama Secretary of State John Kerry, who had taken over from Hillary Clinton at the time of this deal.
“The Chinese government was literally funding a business that they co-owned along with the sons of two of America’s most powerful decision makers,” writes author Peter Schweizer.
The Bidens are corrupt, period, like Obama was corrupt. Unfortunately, because Biden the Elder has a “D” behind his name, the crap media won’t report on this honestly, if at all. And far too many Americans will vote for him if he becomes the party’s nominee for the same reason — while complaining about ‘Trump corruption’ that doesn’t exist.
